Please note that the crossing of the Vedretta Camosci between the Sentiero Brentari and the Sentiero delle Ideale is VERY dangerous! The path on the Tabacco map is wrong. The glacier is pure ice covered with scree, which is very unstable. Small crampons with slip-on rubber straps (Grödeln) do NOT grip and an ice axe does not bite on pure ice to stop a fall. I had a bad slip (ca. 20m) losing the skin on my forearms and elbows. The hut guardian at the XII Apostoli hut confirmed that this has happened a lot and caused several bad accidents. Do not follow the path marked on the map across the top of the glacier. Go down the glacier on leaving the via ferrata Brentari and cross over much lower down where the glacier is flatter and then walk up the scree on the far side to the Bocca dei Camosci.
